Tuition
Tuition is due by the second lesson of each month. Tuition is to be
paid in full. A note will be sent only when your tuition is late. There is
a $5.00 late charge for tuition paid after the third lesson of the month.
There is a $15.00 fee on all returned checks.
Class Attendance
Your child has four lessons a month. If your child will not be at
class, please call the studio at 423-745-2157. Your child will be dropped
from the class for missing 2 lessons in a row without contact from the
parents.
If your child misses a lesson, she will be given a note with the day
and time to come before or after her class for her make up lesson. Make up
week is the first week of the month.
Studio Closures
The studio will be closed for major holidays. We will have classes on
school in-service days. Regarding closures due to snow or bad weather,
please call the studio number for a message regarding classes. The number
is 423-745-2157 or listen to WLAR/WJSQ FM for an announcement.
Drop-off /Pick-up
I have placed 10 minutes between each class this year. Please give the
class before your child's class enough time to get in and out of the
parking lot. There is plenty of spaces for parking in the lot below the
studio. If you need to park across the street in my driveway, please feel
free to.
 | DO NOT BLOCK THE DRIVEWAY OR THE ENTRANCE IN AND OUT OF THE PARKING
LOT. Someone could get hit if the driveway is blocked. |
 | DO NOT PARK BY THE GRASS BANK. Parking by the bank blocks the other
cars. |
 | DO NOT ENTER studio before your class. There is no waiting area
inside. Parents are welcome to sit on the bench outside the studio. |
 | PLEASE keep children waiting with you on the concrete in front of
the studio. |
 | Do not let children play in the front yard of the adjacent house or
in the flower garden with the gravel in it. |
Dance Attire
Your child must come dressed for dance class each lesson.
 | Your child may wear either a leotard and tights, a leotard and
shorts, or a leotard and dance pants. |
 | Hair needs to be out of your child's face. |
 | Appropriate shoes are needed for each lesson. If your child does not
wear tights, she must have socks to wear with her shoes. |
 | Appropriate dance shirts like the older students wear with dance
pants are acceptable for class. (These are NOT T-shirts) |
Jeans and T-shirts ARE NOT appropriate for dance class.
General Rules
 | It is important that your child's name is on all items. I will place
lost and found items in a basket in the small room. |
 | NO food or drink in the studio. There is a trash can outside for
everyone to put their trash. |
 | It is important not to disrupt classes by coming in and out during
class. It is important that we will keep this to a minimum. We know make
up students will be coming in during a class. I will let you know when
"Parent Watch" night will be; watch for the sign on the door. |
 | If you need to pick up your child early, just let us know at the
beginning of class. Your child's dance time is very important to us. |
PERFORMANCES
We will be in the Athens and Etowah Christmas parades. We will have a
recital in the Spring. I plan for the show to be the first week-end in
June. We will order costumes in January. The recital is a time for family
and friends to see the progress that your dancer has made and blossomed
from a student to a performer. Also, during the year we are ask to perform
at area events.
PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy at Miss Lisa's Dance Studio is to create a
positive, loving environment, and that dance should be fun. We encourage
each dancer to be the best they can be, and we do this in a noncompetitive
environment.
I do have competition teams that compete once a year. Lisa and I select
and decide the class or students that are ready for this type of dance. We
feel the dancer must be ready and want to do this type of dancing. We want
this type of dance to fun and rewarding at the same time.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Thank you for choosing our studio for your child to learn dance. If you
have any questions, please let us know. I appreciate your help in these
house keeping matters. |
